About inFoLib
inFoLib — Access to Information Liberia — is a centralized digital platform that makes it simple for people in Liberia to ask government institutions for information and public documents, and to follow what happens to those requests.
Requesting information from a public institution used to mean travelling to an office, finding the right desk and keeping track of paperwork by hand. inFoLib brings that process online. The platform lists the agencies of the Liberian government — ministries, departments, commissions, authorities, bureaus, boards and public corporations — and lets a citizen choose one, describe the information they need and submit the request in a few minutes. Every request is recorded, time-stamped and given a status, so nothing depends on memory or on a single phone call.
The platform is built for Liberian citizens, journalists, researchers, civil society organizations and businesses that need official records, and for the public information officers inside government who answer them. Citizens see only their own requests and the documents returned to them. Public information officers work from a dashboard limited to their own institution, while administrators manage the agency catalog, approve new accounts and keep an eye on requests that have gone unanswered for too long.
inFoLib is designed and maintained by the inFoLib team in Monrovia, Liberia, as a public service tool for open, accountable government. The goal is straightforward: fewer barriers between a citizen and the information they are entitled to, and a clear record of every promise made along the way.
